TomTom XL 330S

The XL 330S is an entry-level GPS that features a built-in speaker and a design that supports a 4.3 inch widescreen anti-glare TFT touch screen with 480 x 272 pixel resolution (64K color support). The device however does not support integrated Bluetooth. Measuring 4.7 inches by 3.2 inches tall by 0.9 inch thick at 6.6 ounces, the TomTom XL 330S features rounded edges with what is touted as sun-readable screen, and allows users to adjust the display’s brightness as well as choose from different map colors and day/night/auto mode under the Change Preferences menu. The device also features onscreen keyboard (QWERTY, ABCD, and AZERTY formats), supports predictive text, speaker and brackets for attaching the vehicle mount to the dashboard, a power button on top and a mini-USB port/power connector on the bottom of the device. The TomTom XL 330S ships with a car charger, a USB cable, an EasyPort car mount (windshield and dash), and reference material. The TomTom XL 330S features text-to-speech functionality and an updated speaker system, and it takes the GPS about 5 minutes to get a fix on location on a cloudy day, with subsequent starts at about a minute or two. The device also features voice-guided directions that tells users turn-by-turn directions with the capability to automatically increase the volume of speech as the car travels at higher speeds.
