The Sony KDL-40V5100 is a Full HD 1080p HDTV with Motionflow™ 120Hz refresh rate technology, and supports a 40-inch panel that is powered by BRAVIA Engine™ 2 digital video processor. It also features 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, seven HD inputs (4 HDMI™, 2 component and 1 PC) that allows users to view content and utilize the HDTV with HD components such as PLAYSTATION®3, Blu-ray Disc™ player and PC. It supports 16:9 Full HD 1080p Resolution Panel (1920×1080) that accepts any HDTV signal and renders it with optimum resolution; BRAVIA Engine 2 fully digital video processor which uses a collection of unique Sony technologies to significantly reduce noise, enhance overall image detail, and optimize contrast so every scene produces sharp, vibrant, life-like images and color; BRAVIA® Link compatibility that lets users connect optional BRAVIA Link modules, including the BRAVIA DVD Link, BRAVIA Wireless Link, and BRAVIA Input Link (all sold separately); and is an ENERGY STAR® 3.0 certified device. The Motionflow™ 120HZ technology on the HDTB doubles the frame rate to help remove judder in film sources, HD content, and broadcast movies and primetime programming. Other features on the HDTV include USB connectivity that allows users to connect a camera, USB-enabled MP3 player, or USB storage device directly to the HDTV’s USB input to view photos on the big screen or listen to favorite MP3’s; Advanced Contrast Enhancer with dynamic backlight control which adjusts the brightness of the backlight both to optimize image quality and reduce power consumption; Favorites Menu function that lets users access favorite channels and video inputs; BRAVIA Sync capability that combines the one-touch access and control functionality of BRAVIA Theatre Sync™ with the ability to control CEC-enabled Sony® Handycam® camcorders and Cyber-shot® digital still cameras using the TV’s remote and an on-screen display. The unit’s 24p True Cinema mode provides a direct connection to 24p video sources, avoiding conversions and allowing users to enjoy films at their intended 24 fps (frames per second) cinematic picture quality when using a 24p-capable output device, such as a Blu-ray Disc™ player or Sony® PLAYSTATION®3 entertainment system. Users can also wirelessly transmit HD audio and video, attach a DVD player behind the TV, or add four additional HDMI™ ports.
