The Samsung PN42B450 is a 720p Plasma HDTV that features a black glossy frame and e-panel technology. The unit is supported by FilterBright™ technology which reduces glare so that users can view the panel day or night. It also features 600Hz Subfield Motion with a 0.001ms response time which delivers a detail picture for fast-moving scenes. The FilterBright™ antiglare technology minimizes image glare and maximized contrast. This technology also reduces reflections while maintaining ultra-high picture contrast. It also features E-panel technology which combines picture quality with energy efficiency function by minimizing glare and reflections for optimal viewing any time of day. The 600Hz Subfield Motion and a 0.001ms response time deliver a clear picture for sports, action, and other fast-moving scenes; while a built-in digital tuner (ATSC/Clear QAM) allows users to watch over-the-air HD digital broadcasts or connecting to cable/satellite service. Other features on the Samsung PN42B450 includes mega contrast where contrast and brightness levels sis adjusted to provide picture quality that is as close as it can get to real life; wide color enhancer technology that reduces the washed out lok of blue and green shaded areas; and is an ENERGY STAR compliant unit.

The Samsung PN42B450 supports three (2 back and 1 side) HDMI digital connector that is used for displaying high quality games and the movies; two side component, composite (AV) analog image connector that is used to connect VCR to display images on TV; one USB (for service only); and a PC input (D-sub) connector that is used to display internet pages and motion clips on the large screen of TV. It also supports a headphone output which can be connected to TV and the audio from TV speakers will be eliminated.
