Samsung N120

The Samsung N120 is a mini notebook that features an innovative design that is superb looking with a slim and elegant chassis that is accentuated with a choice of colours and haptic styling. Although it has a small form factor, the Samsung N120 has a durable casing that provides amazing strength for maximum portability and reliability. The Samsung N120 measures 29.8 mm x 272.0 mm x 188.5 mm (H x W x D) in dimension and weighs approximately 1.28 kg. Its design sports rounded square edges with a silver trim and glowing blue and reddish orange status lights on the front.

The Samsung N120 incorporates a normal notebook PC style keyboard with 84 keys that is ergonomic and easy to type on with optimised key spacing for fewer errors and faster typing. There is also an integrated 1.3 mega pixel digital motion camera for video-conferencing or live messaging purposes. Not only that, the Samsung N120 is shielded by a robust Protect-o-Edge chassis that has survived a series of 54 quality assurance tests for survivability and resilience. In addition to that, the Samsung N120 utilizes Silver Nano Technology to coat the keyboard with incredibly small, nano-sized silver ion powder that makes it impossible for bacteria to live and breed for a more hygienic personal computing environment. It also supports simple data sharing with a host of connectivity tools including a 3-in-1 memory card reader, 3 built-in USB ports, and Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR (Enhanced Data Rate). The Samsung N120 operates on a genuine Windows XP Home operating system on an Intel Atom processor N270 of 1.60 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, with 512 KB, and an Intel 945 GSE + ICH 7M chipset. In terms of memory, the Samsung N120 incorporates one SODIMM memory slot with a capacity of 1 GB (DDR2). There is also an LCD display that measures 10.1 inches diagonally with a WSVGA resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, SuperBright Gloss LED display. As for graphics, the Samsung N120 incorporates Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (Int. Graphic) and shared memory. it runs on an AC Adapter of 40 Watts or a standard 6 cell battery that can offer up to 8 hours of battery life. Software installed include Adobe Acrobat Reader, Easy Battery Manager, Easy Display Manager, Easy SpeedUp Manager, Samsung Magic Doctor, Samsung Network Manager and Samsung Update Plus. For security purposes, the Samsung N120 also incorporates McAfee Virus Scan, a Kensington Lock Port, HDD Password and BIOS Boot Up password. In terms of multimedia, the Samsung N120 incorporates HD Audio with Mic noise suppression and EDS (Enhanced Digital Sound) Effect, two 1.5 Watts stereo speaker and an integrated camera. Its S-ATA HDD has a capacity of up to 160 GB with 5400 rpm. Communication features include Wired Ethernet LAN 10/100 LAN, Atheros 802.11 b/g Wireless LAN and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. In/ Out ports consist of VGA, headphone-out, microphone in, internal microphone, three USB 2.0 ports, a 3-in-1 multi card slot for SD, SDHC and MMC, RJ45 (LAN), and DC-In power port. There is also a small and vertically narrow touchpad with a single rocker bar for a mouse button, as well as a dedicated scrolling bar useful for moving through long Web pages. Not only that, it also supports multi-touch controls and drivers from Synaptics for typical pinch-and-zoom functions for pictures and Web pages.
