Samsung launches S2 Portable hard disk with USB 3.0

USB 3.0 seems to be on everyone’s wish list! Samsung is the latest brand to launch a portable hard disk with USB 3.0. The Samsung S2 features a 7,200RPM spindle speed. This disk is not Samsung’s first; in fact it’s the updated version of the S2 portable USB hard drive that was released earlier this year. The previous S2 portable hard drive featured a USB 2.0 interface and worked at 5,400RPM speed.

This time Samsung updated its drive with a USB 3.0 and released new versions of it again. Speaking on this Samsung admitted that this drive is courtesy of the brand trying to keep up with the fast evolving technology. It comes with the best performance as a portable hard disk and not forgetting a really good quality, with a worthy power usage. It can offer a maximum transfer rate of 5GB per second (Gbps). The Samsung S2 3.0 portable hard drive is available in 320GB and 640GB capacities, and will be released at the end of this month.
