HP Mini 1000

The HP Mini 1000 is a netbook that features Intel Atom processor housed in plastic casing. It also supports up to 60 GB hard drive and comes with options for upgrade to a SSD up to 16GB. The netbook also features HP Mini Mobile Drive slot, which is a recessed USB port that is compatible with HP USB drives. The Mini 1000’s footprint is nearly identical to that of the earlier HP 2133 Mini-Note PC, measuring slightly wider and thinner. It’s also lighter due to its form factor design made of plastic instead of aluminum. The keyboard is of 92 percent of the size of a full-size laptop keyboard, with the keyboards expanded right to the edges of the system, allowing HP to fit bigger keys into the tray than other Netbooks. The 10.2-inch wide-screen LCD display features 1,024 x 600-pixel native resolution, with edge-to-edge glass. The Mini 1000 supports two USB ports and a single switchable audio jack, 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU for Web surfing, working on documents, and some basic multimedia playback; 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP (a Linux version is also available) operating system. The netbook is powered by a three-cell battery, providing power up to 2 hours and 44 minutes. The netbook also comes with industry-standard one-year parts-and-labor warranty with the system.
