Garmin Nuvi 760

The Garmin Nuvi 760 is a GPS device that supports advanced navigation features, a widescreen display, preloaded maps, an FM transmitter, hands-free calling, traffic alerts and more. Like the rest of the wide nüvi 700-series, the 760 also supports route planning and an emergency locator. The nüvi 760’s widescreen display provides users with map detail, driving directions, photos and more on a sunlight-readable, 4.3-inch display that can be read from any direction. The nüvi 760 also supports City Navigator® NT street maps and millions of points of interest (POIs) such as hotels, restaurants, fuel stations, ATMs and more that can be access by touching the color screen to enter a destination, and the nüvi takes users there with 2-D or 3-D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions. The device also announces the name of exits and streets so that users do not have to take their eyes off the road. In addition, nüvi 760 accepts custom points of interest, such as school zones and safety cameras and lets them set proximity alerts to warn of upcoming POIs. The European version includes a preloaded safety camera database containing locations of cameras for parts of Europe. Another feature on the Garmin nuvi 760 is Where Am I? which lets users find the closest hospitals, police stations, fuel stations, nearest address and intersection, see exact latitude and longitude coordinates and recorded exactly where they have parked. It automatically marks a users’ position when they remove it from the windshield mount, so they can navigate with nüvi on foot and find their way back to their vehicle. The Garmin nüvi 760 includes navigational features like route planning which allows users to save up to 10 routes, specify via points and preview simulated turns on the 760’s wide screen; automatically sorts multiple destinations to provide a route for errands, deliveries or sales calls, displays speed limits for highways and Interstates, and a trip log that provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10,000 points, so users can see where they’ve been on the map. The device also supports integrated Bluetooth® wireless technology with a built-in microphone and speaker for hands-free calling (optional external microphone available); which also allows them to dial numbers with nüvi’s touchscreen keypad to make a call and tap on screen to answer calls and integrated FM TMC traffic receiver for alerts about traffic delays and road construction that lie ahead on route and calculate detour around the problem area.

The Garmin Nuvi 760 measures 4.8 x 3.0 x .8 inch (12.2 x 7.6 x 2.0 cm) and sports a 3.81″W x 2.25″H (9.7 x 5.7 cm); 4.3″ diagonal (10.9 cm), 480 x 272 pixels resolution, WQVGA color TFT with white backlight. The device weighs 6.2 oz and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides up to 5 hours of operation time. It also supports high-sensitivity receiver, and a RoHS version is available.

The Garmin Nuvi 760 features basemap, comes with preloaded maps, give users the ability to add maps, supports an internal solid state drive (with expandability via SD™ card (not included) and can store up to 500 waypoints / favorites / locations and 10 routes.
