Great news for all BlackBerry smartphone users; a new app is ready for you to pickup. This app is for those who own BlackBerry smartphones that are running Blackberry’s 4.5 OS version. The users of the noted BlackBerry smartphones will now be able to use the Facebook 1.9 app.

The Facebook 1.9 app is now available for Blackberry phone users. The app can be downloaded from Blackberry App World. For those who already have this application then this will be like an update for them.

For the BlackBerry users who are updating the Facebook app then get ready to welcome some nice features. There will now be the ability to read messages all listed. Users will also be able to view all of their Friends list and they can also search for other friends and places. Facebook places have also been added to the update. The latter is similar to FourSquare, which “allows users to ‘check in’ their location on their wall using the built in GPS on their Blackberry phones”, according to BlackBerry.
